#2 son bailed on me for the Saturday sessions to go to a Notre Dame football game with his cousin, #1 son agreed to go with me. frankly i was completely surprised he accepted my invite. we heard Erwin Lutzer, pastor of Moody Memorial Church of Chicago speak twice in the morning. i bought Brannon Howse's book, One Nation Under Man? he even signed it for me. i think he was a little taken aback by the earrings and the Walls of Jericho sweatshirt but he was very pleasant. i tried to engage him in discussion about Van Til and his approach to apologetics but he was disinterested. i did not want to be rude so i thanked him and #1 and i went to lunch.
the actor Kirk Cameron spoke in the afternoon. we heard his first talk which was OK and the rest of the talks were geared towards parents with young children so we bailed.
Thanksgiving was nice and laid back. we went and had dinner with my brother-lin-law and his in-laws. this past Sunday i took #1 and his girl friend to see Walk the Line, the Johnny Cash biopic. it was very good, i enjoyed it immensely.
i will probably not be blogging with any real regularity for a little while. i am working on some personal and family stuff and i think it will be good to get out of myself for a bit.
