Funny. I was listening to Coleman's Free Jazz 
the other day at work and the fiftyish or so lady who works near me asked to what was I listening. I told her and she said, "That's really nice, it's good background music." I've never really thought of Ornette Coleman as background music but everyone has their own ears.
I really enjoyed JC Mosquito's article over at Blogcritics. I always like reading his take on music.
