VK Talks Turkey and Stuffing

VK gives her recipe for turkey stuffing which sounds really delicious. I think I was almost thirty when I discovered that not everyone uses cornbread to make turkey stuffing.

One cornbread trick I learned from my dad was to eliminate the vegetable oil or shortening. Instead he would take a couple of tablespoons of bacon drippings (a staple in our kitchen, we cooked everything in bacon drippings) and heat it in the skillet, then pour the cornbread mix into the hot skillet. This made for a nice, crispy bottom and some added flavor. He also never used sugar in his cornbread mix, he called that "Yankee cornbread." But to each their own, I try not to be a cornbread snob.
