The Kindle

Venomous Kate writes about the Kindle being #1 on her Christmas Wish List. I have to admit that I don't usually lust after tech stuff. I guess I get my fill playing with cool, new tech tools at work. I didn't get an MP3 player until last year.

But this Kindle looks amazingly cool. The idea that I could walk around with this electronic thingy that contains part of my library is quite tempting, although I would miss the tactile thrill that comes from actually holding a book in my hot, little hands. Mrs. Metal Dad often asks when I buy books or balk at giving away any not-read-recently volumes, "What's wrong with taking them out of the library?"

A fair question for which I have no real logical or reasonable answer. I just like the idea of being able to go down to the family room and pull a book off the shelf whenever I want.
