Live - The Phil Woods Six
This CD consists of excerpts from the Live At The Showboat LP. Phil Woods is one of the best post-bop saxophonists around. Mrs. Metal Dad has a copy of the vinyl floating around and it was my introduction to his music. His very up-tempo version of "I'm Late" from Alice In Wonderland features some incredible soprano sax playing, a great piano solo from Mike Melillo, and an exuberant audience member who yells out, "Play something fast!" at the end of the song.
