In my opinion it is hypocritical to decry social ills and do nothing other than expect the State to use other people's money to address the need. One of the reasons we got involved in foster care was to act on our belief that human life is sacred and must be protected and nurtured.
It's all well and good to rail against abortion on demand but what are you doing to practically demonstrate your committment to protecting human life? To expect that legislation will correct the problem is to be in effect, an atheist. It is putting faith and trust in man made institutions rather than God to provide a resolution.
It is a shame and sin that in a country with so many professing evangelicals/fundamentalists there are children waiting for foster and adoptive families. Picketing clinics is fine but try lining up at the local DCFS office and sign up to help children in crisis.
