Lately I've been listening to podcasts which focus on the paranormal. A frequently discussed topic is UFOs and the possibility of intelligent life out there somewhere. I have a christian worldview and an epistemology informed by the presupposition that knowledge is possible because of the Triune God Who spoke all things into being.
Since the bible is silent on the matter, Ezekiel and his fiery chariot notwithstanding, I would be hesitant to give an affirmative or negative answer to the question of non-terrestrial intelligent life out there in the cosmos. My opinion is that it is possible other worlds with intelligent life were created. The possibility does lead to some interesting theological dilemmas:
1.) Would the fall of Adam and Eve have the same effect on another world as it did with ours?
2.) Supposing other created world(s) were not affected by the human race's fall, would God ever permit our fallen species to have contact with a race that did not fall into sin?
One non-theological question which crosses my mind is why did we stop going to the moon? Was something discovered there which would have been difficult for people to comprehend?
