We'll be leaving in a bit to head down to the Illinois State Summer Games of the Special Olympics. Our daughter is competing in the 100 M run tomorrow. I'll be sure to post any good pics we get.
There will be 3,600 athletes & partners competing in six sports, 2,000 family members, 1,700 coaches, and 2,500 volunteers.
Athletes are divided into competition heats based on their gender, age and comparable entry scores. They will compete in the following sports:

Special Olympics Illinois is a not-for-profit organization offering year-round training and competition in 19 sports for 20,000 athletes ages 8 years and older with intellectual disabilities.
